It was another absolutely beautiful weekend in Kansas City. Accordingly, I felt compelled to return to the lawn of the Nelson-Atkins Museum to continue searching for unique photo perspectives. Because this is such a quintessential Kansas City photo opportunity, it makes it that much more difficult to find a truly unique shot perspective. Thankfully, Google Image Search can help by identifying the “typical” shots of this iconic venue. After spending time soaking up the sun and simply relaxing, I walked back to my car and noticed the shuttlecock at sunset. I simply had to stop and capture this image that was begging to be recognized.
As I roamed around the south lawn of the museum, my mind was free to wander and unwind. Studying each of the shuttlecocks up close forced me to visualize completely different shot perspectives. As the sun moved lower in the sky, a beautiful blue cloud-free sky formed the background canvas for this composition.
