Kauffman Center Fall Morning
I always have an interesting morning on the first day after a time change due to Daylight Saving Time. Even though we gained an hour overnight, I still woke up at my usual time. Or more accurately, my dogs woke me up at THEIR normal time so they could head outside.
Since I was up, I decided to use this as an opportunity to capture an image I’ve often wanted to create. By getting an early start, as I expected traffic and congestion were non-existent as most people were still adjusting to the time change.
Finally, I was going to be able to capture the photo that had eluded me in the past. It was still early when I arrived downtown. There was no activity in the convention district, so I was going to be able to get down on the centerline at street level. The yellow centerline creates a perfect leading line directing the viewer’s attention to the beautiful Kauffman Center. After framing several different compositions in the viewfinder, I finally got this shot that came closest to what I’d imagined in my mind.
