By now it’s clear that I’m obsessed with the full moon rising over the Plaza Lights this year. After my initial visit to capture the moon’s reflection in Brush Creek a few days ago, I’ve gone back every night to capture additional images around the Plaza. The adventure started out the day before the full moon just after sunset. But with each intervening day, the same elevation of the moon is about an hour later than the day before.
So it was a much later trip to capture this image of three towers lit with white lights. However, I’m pleased with the resulting image above. I was very surprised by the pedestrian and vehicular traffic so late on a Sunday night. I guess everyone had the same idea of hoping to capture some of the holiday spirit without the mid-day congestion. Even though I still encountered plenty of traffic, the festive atmosphere and the images I captured made it well worth the trip.
